About Our Projects
Countless lives have been transformed by three projects of the Hope for Honduran Children Foundation – the Casa Noble residence for Boys, Sacred Heart of Dorothee Home for girls, and the H4HC Feed A village Program. The focus of H4HC is to create opportunities and make sustainable differences in the lives of countless neglected Honduran youth. Our successes are beyond our imagination with H4HC youth growing and graduating from Honduran universities as physicians, teachers, nurses, and accountants, etc.
CASA NOBLE Transition Home
Casa Noble residence for boys is a long-term social development program with very long-term and far-reaching benefits. Located 40 minutes from the Tegucigalpa, the capital, the Casa Noble home accepts boys as young as 14, enabling them to continue their education and prepare for their futures while, at the same time, learn and assume adult responsibilities. The foundation offers the residents a disciplined, secure and loving support network, not only with safe shelter and nutritious food but in a family like environment. The boys are mentored and inspired to become leaders in their society and remain in the home until they complete their university studies and secure meaningful employment.
SACRED HEART HOME of Dorothee.
In most mountain villages, the opportunity for an education ends after sixth grade. The Hope for Honduran Children offers girls, the opportunity, as they often say, “of a lifetime”. In the Sacred Heart Home of Dorothee. All living and academic expenses are covered while residents are encouraged to complete their high school and university education. The foundation recognizes an urgent need to provide quality education, teach employable skills, empower willing minds and mentor students for a successful transition into the world of self-sustainability.
FEED A VILLAGE program
In today’s world, there are millions of forgotten children who have never experienced “opportunity or hope”. Our foundation was established to help improve the lives of children ravaged by conditions of extreme poverty. Our goal is to instill the desire and provide the tools for them to become self-sufficient, caring, and responsible adults. We work directly with several rural elementary schools in isolated Honduran villages.
Children and families living tucked away in these remote villages are testimony that you need very little to make a happy life. They are impoverished, isolated and for the most part, they are forgotten. The average Honduran family has eight children. Education is mandatory through 6th grade but each student is required to have a $35 uniform, making education impossible for most families. Frequently the siblings attend school on a rotating basis while sharing the one pair of shoes and uniform. Food is very scarce in these villages and children hope to receive their one and only meal of the day at school. Months might pass with the school cupboards empty as well. The impact of lengthy droughts, torrential rains and the lack of access to markets is daunting. Water, electricity, food, school supplies, shoes, toiletries and vitamins are far beyond the capability of most families. Try to imagine living without food, water, electricity and no access to education for your children. Hope for Honduran Children’s Feed A Village Program works tirelessly to provide over more than 300 children with food, clothing, school supplies and educational support. Several of the foundation’s residential students were from these schools and demonstrated a strong will to succeed – and indeed they have – a medical doctor, accountant, financial analyst, banker, etc.
